Washington Festivals and Events Association Elects Amy McGuffin to Executive Team in 2024

PORT ANGELES, WA – March 10, 2024 - The Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Amy McGuffin, who has been a member of the Washington Festivals and Events Association Board of Directors since 2018, has been elected to the Executive Team at WFEA for the 2024 term.

McGuffin will serve as Secretary of the Washington Festivals and Events Association serving the businesses and organizations as a part of a state-wide association benefitting 400+ members, including educational conferences, annual seminars, and support with grants. Since 2018 Amy has served on the Board of Directors of WFEA acting as chair for the Central Washington Chapter.

“Amy has spoken at several of these conferences, she has taught many event organizers throughout Washington State on how to secure funding and make their events better. Amy has done an incredible job for us and we’re glad that she’s agreed to serve in a leadership position,” said WFEA Executive Director Bruce Skinner. “She not only is a driving force in the events world in Central Washington, she is also a leader in the industry statewide.”

Since 2005, McGuffin has assisted nearly 150 for-profit and non-profit partners in their efforts to elevate their festivals and events through lodging tax funding. She has been a member of the City of Ellensburg Lodging Tax Committee since 2005 and was a part of the award-winning committee that created the Kittitas County Tourism infrastructure plan. Amy was previously the Director of Tourism and Events for the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce and currently sits as the Chief Executive Officer at the chamber for the last 5 years, supporting and empowering local businesses from Vantage to Snoqualmie Pass and beyond.

McGuffin also consults other communities on how to creatively use their lodging tax funds to engage and increase tourist spending, community branding, and to promote city assets. Active in the creation of the Kittitas County Consolidated Lodging Tax Committee since 2012, she has been a major part of the effort to award applicants funding for festivals, events, and projects.
